Default Learning Marketing On The Web

The internet is a great place to learn about marketing. It costs you nothing and the benefits might be considerable.

If you need to ask a marketing related question try the knowledge exchange on:

http://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/index.asp

Marketing Profs also has loads of articles that could be helpful in growing your business, finding additional clients, making more sales.

Another superb site for marketing is: http://www.marketingsherpa.com/

In this case much of the best stuff is available to buy though there are some free articles and case studies. But if you need the best advice on landing pages, on click through rates and other issues Marketing Sherpa is probably the place to go.

If your interest is internet marketing the best place for up to date articles is: http://www.clickz.com/

Of course there are many forums that cover internet marketing and a number of blogs that provide valuable information.

A recent discovery for me has been this super blog full of tips on B2B email marketing : http://e-mailmarketing.blogspot.com/

If you are consultant a useful site is: http://www.actionplan.com/

For small businesses there is some good stuff at:
http://www.charliecook.net/

Both of these last two sites want you to buy their products but there is plenty of valuable advice available for free if you take the time to find it.

Another marketing related site is http://www.psychotactics.com/

An interesting site for marketing research is:
http://www.marketingexperiments.com/

That's enough to get you started.

I agree with you, kundalini, Internet, without doubts, is a great place to find information, but, the danger is this kind of too much information... Consequently the assessment between good and bads information becomes hard .

Anyways, great Informations, very helpful !

I would like to add another resource to the list:

http://www.marketingexperiments.com/

This is an incredible site if you happen to do internet marketing, either professionally or for your own business. And it has recently become a free to view site so make the most of it.

I have been learning about Landing Page optimization.

I'd just like to add a simple point:

Collect email addresses.

If you have some quality content, turn it into a pdf, an e-course, or similar, then get people to sign up for it. Then use autoresponders to keep in touch over time.

They might not buy now, they might not buy in the first 6 months but at some point over the next year they could well decide to buy from you. And the simple reason will be that you are the one they remember.

They might have come across better sites but who can remember the addresses of sites they visited months ago? Who can remember which site is which?

I know from experience that it is the people that keep in touch that get your vote in the end.

Question, how do I know Pay per click is actually working? We have a young kid 19-25 I am unsure of his age, working on our Pay Per click advertising, we spend in my opinion a large sum for this. How do I know this is working, if the conversion rate is really messed up in my opinion.

6-8K a month on pay per click with Overture and Google.

You are able to apply conversion tracking code on your exit pages - I know google and overture offer these tools.

Good point kundalini. People should do something that no one else does...and what sets some apart from others is wrapped in one word..SERVICE. When you know someone will go the distance for you, customers come back. Two car companies come to mind..Toyota and Honda < just examples. No wonder they own the market share!
