Default Snaffling up expired domains

I know the chances of getting an expired domain before the pros snap them up are slim. What tools do they use?

I have my eye on one that's been suspended since Feb. It's got good keywords for me, and should also come with some residual traffic and PR.

I've read somewhere to wait about 92-99 days from date expired to try and snaffle it.

Anyone with any experience of this?

A word of warning, if a domain name drops to google its like starting from stratch in terms of age value. Can anyone comfirm this? I bought a dropped domain had to win it out in an auction afew years back and after launching the site I had a long sandbox period, even though it had quite afew backlinks too.

If the name is a .uk domain, then I may be able to help as this is one of the services I offer, if it is a .com, then you need to be looking at someone like SnapNames

I tried out registering expired domain names, and found the entire process a hassle not worth bothering about - not least irate people ringing me demanding to know what I was doing with their domain name!!

Thanks for your replies.

Monaghan, Would it be possible to enlist your services and what are your rates?

The forum would not let me PM you as I haven't made 10 posts yet.

Happy to give it a go, I've not posted public contact info as the billing interface to the system is still under development so all additions are presently manual (the catch process for queued domains is automated though)

It is worth noting that popular domains are often re-registered by catchers within 1 second of being deleted, for valuable domains this figure is often measured in milliseconds!
