Default Help with website construction

Ok, so I'm creating a website but i dont really know how to do some things. Here's a list of things i need help with:

1. Making my website send people password reset emails when asked for
2. When people sign up, how do i make my website make them members
3. How to make my website let people sign in
4. How do i make my click boxes work
5. Basically, i need to know how to make my website automatically do things.

Guys, i'm in a rush and i really need help with this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It really sounds like you need a Content Management System (CMS) - have you looked at Wordpress or Joomla?

Given your list, then coding yourself in a rush is asking for a security hole. Take a look at Joomla, it should do all you need.

Depends on what would you like to do, if it's just a blog, use Wordpress.
If it's something more, then yes, Joomla or Drupal.
If it's a shop: use Magento.
If it's something different or it needs some decent level of customization/branding or you don't want to risk getting stuck on your first project with a CMS, hire a web developer (feel free to contact me, btw).

Best of luck

Style helps - look at Apple products.

But don't let style get in the way of making it effective from ther users POV and also your own - if it takes seven days to change a spelling mistake then it's probably a little too complex.

After running a creative business and contracting/outsourcing web developers, I've researched for so long and finally filtered all my options down to just 2. If I want to create an effective, well designed, user friendly (both administrator and end user) website then WordPress leaves every other platform standing, especially if you deploy the right theme. Obviously WordPress is free, and as far as I'm concerned there is only 1 theme that takes WordPress to the next level. PM me if you wanna know that one ;-) The other system I use the best option if you're building a membership website AND it's streamlined for the initial sales process (that goes into selling your website).

For your first 3 points try something called amember its free the last i saw, that will allow you to create a members/password section on your site.

I actually just posted some advice but, being a newb on here, it has been submitted to moderators... flagged up for containing a link. Good chance it will be trashed unless the Mod understands it would have value to you and this thread. However, I've since discovered that the doors are now closed to the system I was linking you to. Sorry I couldn't be of more help... or that I wasn't quicker. Good luck
