Guidelines for posting and use of the Internet Business forums
The Internet Business are designed to be a useful resource for business online, especially from the UK.
The Internet Business forums are intended as a place where small businesses and webmasters can share
information, help one another, generally relax and network.
However, to ensure that this remains is a respectful and professional environment to benefit everybody, a
general set of guidelines have been set up to act as a useful reference for both members and staff to using this site
best.
Please note that Internet Business staff reserve the right to remove, modify or move posts at our discretion and
without explanation, and to remove posting privileges from any member deemed to be disruptive.
1.1 Please respect other members - personal attacks and insults will not be tolerated. Members
deemed to be offensive or disruptive may be banned without warning.
1.2 If you have compelling reasons to believe that a member is unsuitable for posting in the
Internet Business forums, please contact Platinax staff in private.
1.3 Please do only use only one account per person - multiple accounts held by the same person
will all disabled.
1.4 Don't post or link to material that is overtly adult, grossly violent, or otherwise
graphically disturbing and potentially disruptive to the community.
1.5 Post only for yourself - do not use your posts to represent the specific interests and
intentions of another person, especially a banned member.
1.6 If you contact someone privately, do not use the forums to post instructions to check their e
-mail, PM's, or similar.
1.7 As a basic anti-spam measure, all members must have a minimum of 5 posts before posting live
URLs, use a signature, or use the PM system. Any member who makes meaningless posts to circumvent this restriction will have
their posts removed and account disabled.
1.8 Abuse directed at Internet Business staff may result in immediate suspension of your account.
2.1 Talk about your business, aspects of your business, and your business experience by all means
- but members seen to be present only to promote their commercial interests will have their accounts disabled.
2.2 You may link to informational pages you administrate in response to queries for information,
but avoid gratuitous link drops.
2.3 Also, do avoid linking to your own commercial pages, unless in response to a request for links
to commercial pages of that nature.
2.4 Affiliate links are not allowed under any circumstance anywhere on the forums - if you want to
profit from your links, buy our advertising.
3.1 The Internet Business forums allows all members to included a signature automatically with
every post you make. Please do note the following restrictions with regards to signatures:
3.2 Signatures may not be pasted into a post body, but must be set up via your control panel.
3.3 Signatures may be no longer than 4 lines in size, and no more than 250 characters overall.
3.4 A maximum of two links per signature, please.
3.5 Signatures may contain links to your commercial sites/pages, but you may not include
information on offers or pricing - use our paid advertising services for that.
3.6 Links in signature may not be sold to any third-party.
3.7 Signatures may not involve change of colours and font size from the forum norm.
3.8 We reserve the right to ask you to change and/or remove your signature at any time, for any
reason.
4.1 We will not share any details regarding Internet Business forum members with any third party.
4.2 However, there may be periodic but rare e-mails to members informing you of current changes in
policy and operations of Internet Business, and all members consent to this. If you do not wish to receive this information, please
disable your account.
4.3 Internet Business reserve the right to modify and amend these terms at any time without notice. It is
the responsibility of individual members to remain informed of changes in policies at Internet Business.
5.1 In posting messages and information to this forum, you grant Internet Business and its administrators a
non-exclusive copyright to publish such material on the Internet Business website as and how the administrators see fit.
5.2 In order to prevent abuse, you may not demand that such posted messages and information be
removed unless required by a court order. If you do not wish your posts to remain public on the site you must not take part
in this forum.
