For those that are interested, Google have a deskbar which is in beta. Like the toolbar but accessible when in Windows regardless of which application you are using (ie. not just IE).
More info is available at http://toolbar.google.com/deskbar/index.html Another Google success, do you expect? Aaron

I have to admit to not being sure what the particular advantage of it is - at least with Mozilla you have e-mail options, for example. Even the toolbar is only really useful as a pop-up blocker and for reading PR. I've actually left it uninstalled for the moment.

All the main features in deskbar seems to be in the toolbar already, so I dont see why I would need it!

I tried the deskbar for a while, but apart from being able to launch IE a little quicker it didn't really have many advantages at all and it takes up room on the taskbar. Got rid of it yesterday when it wouldn't resize properly.
The toolbar is handy as mentioned for blocking popups and I use that a lot for searching and especially remembering the original search queries. Sorry Google - nice idea, but doesn't have enough advantages. Trev |
