What would you say is the greatest thing you have achieved in business? Perhaps you've secured a big contract, maybe your proud of a business you have developed from scratch, or maybe it's something else?

I'm afraid I've only just opened shop, so my only achievement so far is my first sale. Even then, I think it's an important landmark start.
Of course, feel free to mention your 100,000 visitor total for your travel site - I think you've earned bragging rights on that.

I think you still classify opening up shop as a great achievement!
![]() Mine? Hmmm... well, it could be that 100,000 visitors in a month on AardvarkTravel.net thing but I won't mention that - ooopsss... too late. To be honest, I have absolutely no idea. Maybe my greatest achievement is simply running a business even though I'm orange, have a big snout and am just 4ft tall. ![]() Aaron

Thanks, rcslimited... what has been encouraging is that successive months have also seen us break the 100k barrier. One month it was even around 130k. We'll keep plugging away and hopefully one day we'll be able to boast 200k a month.

Heh, I just hope it's converting enough to pay for your servers - and your new house.
![]() I think my next big achievement will be VAT registration. Probably also a hurdle as well.

Aardvark doesn't really convert enough yet, but it will do given time.
UKseries.com was in the same boat a few years ago. It brough in a trickle of income, and now it does exceptionally well for us. I see no reason why the Aardvark brand cannot follow suit - and help pay for the house. ![]() Aaron

From here the Aardvark brand looks a pretty strong horse to back.
![]() Are your sites hosted on different C class IPs? By that I don't mean simply dedicated IPs, but on separate servers in separate datacenters - or the like? Simply because Google has more than one algo for devaluing links across the same IP block. And back to topic - just remember a major achievement a couple of weeks back - my bank gave me credit, and a company Credit Card. ![]() Having been previously unemployed for some time, this is actually the first time I've ever had any form of credit rating - even if it's just the bank. Luckily, the Credit Card, being for a company, rather than personal, means that it's effectively a Debit Card with a 30 day delay on payment. But it should mean purchasing online is now a lot easier - places such as templatemonter simply do not take UK debit cards. I'm armed with MasterCard now, which is much more acceptable.

Thanks, Brian. The three main Aardvark sites are across two IPs but in the same datacenter.
Congrats with the CC... ![]() Aaron

Greatest business achievement - Still trading 6 years down the line.
How do you achieve it? Keeping an eye on every single penny. Most difficult business achievement? Finding sales people that do what they promise - sell (Not yet achieved)
