I tried to sign up for the NAtional Geographic affiliate program (I buy the magazine regularly, and it would probably work well with my neutral resource for world religions.
However, after filling out the form and sending, I got an immediate decline: Quote:
Anyway, I tried to re-register twice but I kept coming up against an error page - even when I click through the original National Geographic site link (I figure there's a cookie spoiling the show, yes?). Anyway, I thought I'd e-mail support - but you have to log on to contact them directly - and the only e-mail listed on the contact page is for media/press releases only. There's a London office listed, with a phone number - so I thought to ring - surely I'm not the only UK resident to have a problem registering? Anyway - no answer. I've heard of Commission Junction, but I can't say I find the company very friendly - or professional - at the moment.

I tried to sign up with them when I got into the whole affiliate marketing deal, and didn't get past the stage of having to fax something to them. At least that's what I think it was, it was some time ago. The difficulty of signing up was enough to put me off permanently, and when you compare it to the ease of signing up with Adsense or Tradedoubler, I wonder how they have managed to be as big as they are.

Glad I'm not the only one deemed not to be a "bona fide business customer"!
Which reminds myself, I really need to look at Tradedoubler in more detail - I really need to set some time aside to look into that more properly.

Just to keep updated - apparently, what was going wrong in my Commission Junction application was my putting "n/a" in the box requesting American tax info.
I've finally signed up for the National Geographic affiliate scheme on one of my sites, and am running that via Commission Junction. No sign of income yet, though!
