Default Links

How do I post links? e.g www.allthebizz.com

The option is set to parse links automatically? Is it disable for the advertising forum?

Clare

Hi Clare -

Yes, links have been disabled in the "offers and requests" forum, and signature links now require a minimum of 10 posts for activation:

This entire forum is almost certainly about to move and I'll send an update e-mail to members after I've done that, telling members about the changes.

I think this is a very good idea, in one of my forums I have some "memebers" signup, dump links and never show up again, this not only advertise their business at my expense but too much link also drain Page Rank from a website. (or a forum)

A lot of people will dump and run with their links in business forums - and although a new forum will try to be as forgiving as possible, at the end of the day there's a danger that some boards exist simply to pander to spammers - and that wouldn't seem like a good idea. That's why the "Offer and Requests" board is set up in a way to compromise both ways - people can still get their ad in, but they have no active link.

PageRank loss doesn't bother myself anymore - but a forum that says "get free backlinks here!" sends the wrong message to the wrong people, IMO.
