Default Dual core Processor : Are they really that powerful?

Well, i have read one topic about this thing many weeks ago. That topic said that the dual core processor will not work as 2 processor until you have designed your programs to be distributed over two processors. Watch this thread. An old debate continues....

Dual Core Processors are very nice but they wont really be needed for 3-4 more years they are a bit ahead of their time right now imo.

Yes, when developers make their software splitted to 2 processors, then we will get the benefits.

I need one Dual core processor now.

In a few years I'll need a six or even eight core processsor.
