I have a question about PHPBB............is there any quick reply mod available for PHPBB2 ? Please can anyone help me. I need the mod. Or is there any other means by which we can setup a quick reply mode for the PHPBB2 boards.

i would always say, if you're just starting use phpbb, get used to administrating your board and all that.. later on, you'll find that phpbb is really limited and security issues is overwhelming.. that's when you start to look for a better one, and i guess vbulletin should enter the scene.

If you want to get rid of spam bots, add in another required field when people are registering. Those little images that have letters people have to type out are good, but some bots can get around those.
I recommend adding in a new field that users have to fill in when registering. This way the bots don't come in. That's what I currently have going on my forum and I haven't had any issues yet

I've been looking at PunBB recently and it looks like a nice simple forum with a lot of nice features. Might be worth considering if you're looking for free.
![]() Personally I'd never touch phpbb - just too many security issues. |
