Default Alexa toolbar

So I thought to install the Alexa toolbar, thinking for some reason that helping my Alexa rankings for my various sites would be a good idea (for some reason).

Anyway, Google toolbar also installed...

And nw a couple of times a really nasty bug has shown up because of running Alexa on top IE + Google Toolbar -> namely, sometimes when I close a window, suddenly IE windows will suddenly start opening ad infitinum (or so it appears).

It's a bit like Mickey Mouse and the brooms - but with IE windows spontaneously appearing everywhere and you can't close them down.

I actually had to shut down iexplore.exe to stop it.

Either way, I think it's time to uninstall Alexa...

Run Adaware afterwards to try and repair some of the damage.

Alexa isn't very accurate at all for rating a site. You can totally improve your stats just by using the toolbar and visiting your site often.

I have no idea why advertisers use this as a measuring stick?

I've always been led to believe that too, so stayed well away from Alexa.

Use just the google one myself.

Cheers
