Hi I have just been asked if I want to have an advert in the business pages or the yellow pages.
I don't have a massive budget and most people I have spoken to have said that the yellow pages is a waste of time. Anyone that advertises in the yellow pages could you tell me whether or not it works. I understand that it may depend on the business. Most of my business is on the internet and wondered whether I should concentrate on online marketing or telesales?

I hardly ever look at yellow pages in print form now, because I have access to fast internet at work, so I use the internet to search for any local services I need.
However, I quite often use www.yell.com, the internet version of yellow pages, which gives me a list of local businesses providing what I am looking for. I don't know whether your listing in the printed version would also give you a listing in the online version, or whether they are completely separate. I would have thought yellow pages was only relevant if you were providing a local service rather than a national internet-based one. |

YP is a dying duck. They used to take on the best telesales, have the best training and pay lots and lots of dosh. Now unless you sell to the home user ( even this is dying) there is no point at all, why not ppc or prosepct profile instead? Ps if you need CPL analasys let me know.

Hi there,
Yellow Pages is dying really. I wouldn't bother paying for an advert. better off spending the money elsewhere, PPC for instance. You should get a free listing in the Yellow Pages anyway, just the normal 1 liner. We used to get a bit of business (local) from yellow pages, and then yell.com (which you get listed in if you've got the one liner in the book). But it's dropped off quite a lot over the last couple of years. regards K |

Hi,
I completely agree the previous post, advertising in yellow pages or even Yell brings you loads of Junk mail and cold callers and not business. I advertised in both but I will not be renewing my adverts, they are also very expensive. Temi |
