WiFi - How Far Can You Go?

A friend has just bought a shop but his house is only about 0.2 miles (according to autoroute) from the shop in a straight line.

He was going to pay for a seperate internet connection for his shop but I'm sure at that distance he can get a WiFi signal from his house to the shop.

He already has broadband at home.

Any recommendations on the equipment he'd need to go this distance?

if their ISP is available in shop area then he may acess free from that cable
as here one isp had all over city and one can use their net by just connectiong cable to nearest cable operator and then use username password

but i dont know about your country also have to wireless intenet connections so this avoid for a second net

let what other peoples will say

I also needed if their is any types of systems that gives from home to other areas

I believe there is some new wi fi equipment coming out that will have much longer range but it's still a few months away.

I use a Belkin Pre-N router... 20-30 meters to the end of my garden is no problem to it.
