My sister lives in Milton Keynes and her local Safeways has now been renamed Morrisons, the North of England supermarket giant who recently bought the Safeways brand.
Apparently the aisle that used to have a sign above it saying "Lemonade" now says "Pop". I wonder whether they will be renaming everything in the shop to comply with Northern terminology... So far our local Safeways have kept their original brands and just started stocking food that is branded Morrisons... but it's just a matter of time... |

I thought "pop" was a sourthern thing? Northern labelling would just say: "fizzy stuff".
![]() The way to really tell if it is labelling northern style, is if all the lager is signposted "wimpish southerner drink" and the bitter as "hard-nosed gritty real man's brew".
