Default What crazy benefits did you have before the iBubble popped?

Remember the good-ole days when you could get a PS2 and some organic carrot juice delivered to your door in under an hour? (long live Kozmo.com )

When I was working at an agency in Seattle around the same time, it was the golden age of reckless spending. Ping pong, pool table, retro stand-up video games? For granted! Weekly masseuse? I'll quit the week it's not there! $2000 Herman Miller chairs? Well, I gotta sit on something, and coding by hand is sooo hard my ass hurts in normal chairs. Grab a beer from the employee fridge for lunch? Hey, get me one too!

So maybe you guys have some hilarious anecdotes as employees of forward-thinking companies?

Maybe i'm a bit to young, but i never noticed a big change to tell you the truth. It just all kind of seemed to flow.

This thread just clicked. The DOT COM BOOM DUH! HAHA, I just got done reading "The Perfect Store: Inside eBay". By far the most successful company to come out of the dot com boom.

I would have loved to have been part of a start-up duing that time. Even if it was one of the 98% that later failed!

My friend read that book, she said that it was so intersting to see how a coperation could be almost 100% based on servers with really the only physical means are the offices.

Just kinda thought that was cool - i might read it at somepoint when i have time (which doesnt seem anytime soon)

It's definitely an interesting book. It is inspiring to say the least and you sure get every detail of how eBay became what it is today. It's really cool.
