A bad sector on my hard drive has forced me to reformat - I've decided to do a full install of XP, from scratch, rather that "upgrade" by installing Windows 98, then Windows XP.
I logged onto www.microsoft.com, and went to support to get critical updates - when I noticed the following: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB832894) Download size: 2.8 MB Identified security issues in Internet Explorer could allow an attacker to compromise a Windows-based system. As a side note - I don;t know why the hell it's happening, but I installed McAfee before going online - and since I began installing the critical updates I've been getting lots of virus detects - sd worm versions h and i. Not impressed. Only visited my ISP website (default explorer address) and then microsoft.
