I'd say, go for GIMP when you don't have the cash to buy Photoshop. Photoshop is defenitely superior!

Easily Photoshop, has loads more functions and tonnes more stuff you can do with it. I tried gimp once, and didnt like it at all.

If you already are able to work with InDesign, or Illustrator, then moving on to Photoshop is only a small step..the interface is very similar to the other applications..

Even though GIMP is free, there is absolutely no way you should/could/would choose that over Photoshop, you'd be a deadbeat if you did.

Photoshop is better and easy to use than GIMP. Also i have been with photoshop since long time so probably wouldn't be changing to GIMP.

They are not comparable. Photoshop has a very high standard and one can do what he likes to do with it.

Gimp is a freeware software and has complicated interface.

So, I am going for Photoshop.

Definitely Photoshop for me. Gimp confused the hell out of me the first time I used it, and still does.
