This is a Tutorial I recently found on the net and thought it was really quite good. I did NOT write this!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey guys. This is my first tutorial. Today, I am going to show you how to host your own web based proxy. An example of one can be found at www.vtunnel.com UPDATE: It seems t35.com has caught onto our little hosting trick and blocked the proxy from running. However andymc has modded the script to allow it to run. Also, t35 has piped ads into the script and blocked images. So, I found a better host. www.zendurl.com. However, this should work on most free hosts. A list of free hosts without ads can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/2kmm77 Just make sure they support PHP. For this you will need: * Surrogafier - http://tinyurl.com/2jay2e (backup links are at the bottom of the page) * An FTP client - http://tinyurl.com/3cog7 * Hosting - http://tinyurl.com/2u9d8z * (Optional) A .net.tc domain - http://tinyurl.com/yaqakh NOTE: You will have to use the modified Surrogaffier I'm hosting, as the official version won't start. First we need to download and install Filezilla, we also need to download the Surrogafier script and have it ready to go. Next, sign up for free hosting. After you sign up, zendurl will take you a confirmation page which looks like this: http://i16.tinypic.com/3z9z08w.jpg We need the following details: * FTP Server * FTP Login * FTP Password Now, go into Filezilla, and fill in the fields like this: Address is the FTP Server entry on the website. User is the FTP Login on the website. Password is your account password. Port is 21. When set up properly, Filezilla should look like this: http://i1.tinypic.com/484bxpy.jpg After it is set up correctly, click "Quickconnect" Now wait while Filezilla connects, this should take about 5 seconds. After the connection is complete, the box on the right side of the window will display what is in your FTP directory. Not much at the moment. Use the file browser on the left, or an explorer window to locate your Surrogafier script and drag and drop it over to the right hand box. This will now upload the script to your website. When the uploading is complete, right click the file and rename it to something which won't get much attention, such as "googlesearch.php" The window should look like this when it is uploaded: http://i3.tinypic.com/2exubrk.jpg Congratulations! Your proxy can now be accessed at www.zendurl.com/<youruser>/<scriptname> If you would like to give this URL to friends, you could register a .net.tc domain forward. Surrogafier backup links: http://tinyurl.com/2n9by2 http://tinyurl.com/377o7w - password is "fuckbigbrother" http://tinyurl.com/2jfyzp http://tinyurl.com/3dszrn http://tinyurl.com/2nll85 http://tinyurl.com/2wvxfw â€ÂÂ*Jesusâ€ÂÂ* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.totse.com/bbs/Forum12/HTML/011996.html By jesus_is_my_homeboy69 I have yet to try it but it should work and looks like a solid idea for a personal proxy!! |

Yeah I can understand how a noob would find it a bit confusing...something alot of us who are computer literate take for granted....
Nothing a couple google searches couldn't fix though! |
