I used to have an old one I got from eBay for £230.
P3 600mhz 20gb HD (it came with a 6gb and i put a new one in) 256mb Ram DVD drive It worked really well, I could run PS and dreamweaver on it, albeit a little bit slowly. I sold it last May for £250 (with loads of music :P) so I could buy my Mac Mini. I'm probably going to get a laptop when/if I go to Uni though, much easier to take around with me. Hoipefully I'll get an i/Power/Mac Book if I can afford it

I recently replaced my desktop pc with a laptop and am loving the ease of just being able to pick up and go when I want to work from somewhere else. I shopped around quite a bit since I was definitely on a budget, and needed a machine that would get along with the others on the home network. I ended up with a Compaq widescreen with a 1.7 GB Intel processor, 504 MB RAM and a 40GB hdd. It has installed wifi, and a CD/DVD-R combo drive along with several other little perks that I like. It wasn't my dream machine, but it works well for me.
Of course, no sooner had my 'return within x days with no questions asked' run out than I found the Sony Vaio that I REALLY wanted on sale for just $50 more than I paid for this. Feh. |
