I am making a 1 million dollar website, like the famous million dollar homepage website.
Though i don't want to call it the same, so does anyone have any suggestions for a catchy, maybe even unique, name? |

I hate these internet trends. One person makes a little money off of one thing, and all of a sudden you see hundreds of clones of it on the internet, when most, if not all of the clones end up failing miserably, being a waste of time and money, and just annoying to see.
Use you resources for something else, IMO. |

O_o i think i was a little too late... I didn't realise there were so many clones allready. But i have allready bought the site so i might as well use it.....
I was thinking maybe something like 2milliondollarhomepage.com And make it a successor to the milliondollarhomepage, and give those people who never had a chance to become part of 'internet history' another chance. I also wouldn't like to copy the origonal persons idea, so if i did actually make a million i would definetely donate some of the money to him (maybe a thousand)... So anyway, any more ideas would be very grateful. Thanks. |

Really, I don't like the idea, but if you have your heart set on copying it, at least change it in some way so it's not like all the other clones. I'm not sure how you could do that, though. |

I had an idea, based off the Million Dollar Homepage, but not using the same concept. Basically, set up a website to monitor the status of all the domain names listed there, there must be several hundred, and one day one of them is bound to be dropped, so by having a site which lists drop dates etc. from whois you could probably get some nice hits, and also have a unique idea in the process.

I also have some ideas to get it of the ground. It will be $1 per square for a lifetime of advertising (as long as the website is open - atleast 1 year). If the website is succesful and fills up all the squares, i will give the first 10 people who applied for a square(s) $10 as a 'Thank you.' I also, most importantly, need an idea for a domain name... 2milliondollarhompage.com/.co.uk/etc has been taken. And i dont nesesarily need to call it 'milliondollar' something, so any names anyone can think that sound good will be great?EDIT: I just thought of a name... what if i focused it on Gaming. Sure, i would probably lose a lot of customers, but it would mean it would be slightly more unique. I could call it: www.milliondollargamers.com ? What about that? |

With my idea, you do not make your own million dollar homepage, simply get all the domain names currently advertised on MillionDollarHomepage.com and monitor their availability, so when the owner of the domain name forgets to renew the name or lets it become unregistered, people can see this on your website and then register the name themselves.

Oh, yep, now i get it. The only thing is, i have allready bought the whole million dollar website idea... so i have to use it. Though i could do your idea, as i see how that could become quite useful for people wanting a place on the origonal million dollar website.
