Well, it's hardly being strained is it?

If you want good recommendations on webhosts, you could always try http://www.webhostingworld.co.uk

My favourite host at present is clook - I have a dedicated server with them for a few of my larger forums.

Is there something special about UK web hosting? Does it matter where/what country you get your web hosting from?

Plus of course where you're hosted from has an impact on your rankings in national search engines, such as Google.co.uk for UK websites.

In the US I use asmallorange.com and resellerzoom.com (which is associated with hostingzoom.com).

Both have been a pleasure to work with.

For someone who doesn't mind barebones hosting (they don't use the standard CPanel or offer lots of bells and whistles, but have never taken more than an hour to respond to a help ticket with at the very least a request for more information), servage.net has some serious advantages - like.. 75000 MBs of disk space and 1110 GBs transfer monthly, and adult content allowed. You DO need to know what you're doing, but if you do, it's a nice little plan.

Triumph... how long have you used resellerzoon?

I've actually just signed up there - just to host my own sites, and am happy with it so far - though it hasn't been that long.

Ouch - think I prefer having CPanel. So much easier to admin a site with the traffic stats, and especially database creation and editing via phpmyadmin. I don't fancy command line backups and restores for SQL files yet.
