Just to let you know I've just banned registrations using email addresses such as Gmail, Yahoo, and Hotmail.
Namely because these were favourites of forum spammers, and it's getting very annoying to find the boards cluttered with spam (even if filtered from public view unless authorised). Will see if this helps reduce the workload, without causing too many problems for people. I figure most people Platinax is targeted at will have email addresses attached to their own domains, instead of being reliant on free email addresses - but we'll see.

It's surprising the number of trade vehicles and local adverts you see with hotmail type addresses on them
![]() As you say though, people should really be trading under their own domain rather than a free address.

Indeed, many of my smaller customers tend to have a yahoo or hotmail address. I hope this doesn't put genuine new users off who happen to have a free email a/c.

Indeed, it's a risk - but I figure most people in the UK have a free email account from their ISP anyway, even if they're lacking a website with email.
