Default Re: Will Gordon Brown help small business people

National Insurance does sort out your pension, is it around £80 a week. Just about pay for my telephone and broadband.

The main problem the UK has in comparison to our EU counterparts is people have an obsession with owning a house. Because of the costs involved tax has to be set at low levels in comparison to other countries.

This does not mean people in UK have more expenditure, they don't, they just pay less tax.

The UK government should buy back all of its land, then lease to homeowners for periods of around 100 years. Repayments will be low, this will allow for tax increases thus improving services and pensions. It will also reduce spiralling housing costs.

This is just a pipe dream and will never happen. We own properties in France and Bulgaria as well as renting a property in Germany.

It saddens me to say I would not like to bring my children up in the UK, this is for numerous reasons, not all financial.

I cannot see any reason for Gordon Brown not to call an election, he cannot be worried about David cameron because he is not taken seriously by the people or his own party
