Help with Blogger

Hi all,
I have been working on a blog in blogger for some time. It is getting a fair amount of traffic right now. But what I am worried about is that I am not able to place different elements of the page side by side. Its like I have to place every page element one below the other and hence I am losing a lot of space. Blogger does not have enough freedom in dealing with this. Can anyone please help me with this problem of filling up the vacant spaces? Is it possible anyway with blogger or is it possible only if you own your own website? The blog address is in the signature.

If you host your own blog then it allows you much more freedom to set up a custom template as and how you wish it set up.

You could also try playing with a free account at Wordpress.com, and see if that is a little easier to work with if you're not comfortable coding a template yourself.

I am trying with wordpress.com, think it will workout better in this one. thanks for the prompt reply though.
