Default Conversions via good referrals

A nice post that promises little but delivers lots:

See if you can figure it out.

I think the crucial point made is "find a niche". I have seen way too many people trying an online venture that has no real focus, just a lot of items scattered about. They look and feel like 3rd rate flea markets.

Interesting post. I think the toughest part of it (other than finding your niche) is walking that fine line between persuading and coming off as a sales pitch.

I think one of the best ways to avoid the sales pitch tone is to remember to appeal to the "others like you are here too" area of the mind. While you are building your site, remember to have a plce to build a community with it. It takes a very long time but that sense of kinship can help you with the viral marketing that spreads the word to more potential customers and profitable friends.
