Default Getting Indexed for free in other engines

Do any of the pay engines ever pick up from Google's indexing? I'm not willing to pay for submission right now and some engines just haven't picked me up, meanwhile Google has.

Pay Engines... do you mean Directories? Yahoo and Google both have directories that must be paid for for commercial sites; they are completely separate and different to Yahoo and Google Search Engines, which are free.

Does this answer your question?

Once you have links pointing to a site, Google, Yahoo!, MSN, Ask, etc, will come in and index it.

However, that's all just for the natural listings in search engines - certainly not a way to get into paid channels, such as PPC and paid for directories.

I mean like Yahoo and DogPile that require you to pay for submitting your site to the search engine. Google allowed me to submit without charging a fee and has thoroughly indexed the site. I have links out there and whatnot, but Yahoo and DogPile do not show the site in searches. I'm not willing to pay a search engine.

I have never paid any Search Engine to spider my site, they've all found it naturally and that includes both Yahoo and Dogpile. (Dogpile is a meta engine anyway; it checks the other engines for results rather than spidering your site directly. afaik

Like I said in my previous post, Yahoo has a Directory that you must indeed pay to be a part of, assuming yours is a commercial site of course ^^ But its' Search Engine is free. Be patient, if Google has found you the others will follow suit sooner or later.

Google found me first too, followed by MSN, Yahoo then the other smaller ones started to find me too, including Dogpile.

You don't need to pay Yahoo or Dogpile for a liisting - both will index you fine once you have links.

I guess I just need to get some more back links running. I'll be adding that to the marketing blitz I mentioned in the other thread.

The big 3 cover almost 90% of searches. I think if you are paying to get the last 10%, it will be a waste of money. If it's free, then it's another case.
