It has been over 6 months and one of my sites has yet to be indexed. All of my other sites have been indexed within weeks.
This one that has taken over 6 months has the most content of all of them, and everything is created by me. There are even a few links from some top sites ranked high for my keyword, as well as in some good directories. I'm really confused here, as I've never had one take this long. Nothing shady is going on, no black hat, etc. I'm thinking of having it professionally redesigned, adding new content features, etc., but I don't want to go through all that if there's some other problem that is being overlooked. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

The point you mentioned about content can be true, because search engines do not like new websites just jumping up and then suddenly left alone, try adding content and add links not necessarily through directories but websites.

It's really a links issue - more stronger links required. Newer sites with a *lot* of content can be especially problematical at first, but once you keep pushing on the links (and the quality of the links) then you should be fine.
I had a small forum which spent an age in supplemental, but a little preseverence means it's fine now.

Would be surprised - most people think very quickly of penalties, when in fact it's little more than poor linkage. Especially for a relatively newer site.
When established sites start to disappear - that's when I think "penalty!". Welcome to Platinax, anyway, An Oasis.

Most of the time there are a range of technical issues that can be involved with a site not showing properly in Google, let alone indexing.
As for the original poster - I'm afraid it's not genuine, but instead just a new breed of paid forum spammer which join up forums in order to sell the signature link space. I know this because I accidentally signed up for such a service thinking I was buying forum posts, but got what the original poster is doing instead.

True, incoming links are essential in indexing a website. However, we've often had cases where a batch of say 10 websites were launched and promoted in the same manner (original content, article marketing, blog posting) and 1-2 were indexed and then taken out of the index completely, for absolutely no apparent reason. This also happens because we are dealing with a mathematical giant here, and sometimes the logical step for us isn't the same as Google's algorithm.
