Default Where is the best place to advertise

Where do you get the best advertisement service ? The best CTR and ROI?

What advertisement method is best for you? PPC or Text link ad where the price does not depend neither on the clicks nor on the impressions?

I don't do PPC, but I have found advertising sections on forums has delivered an instant targeted market, usually without cost. Which is even better.

Places such as Digitalpoint and Sitepoint have been good to me for that, though sitepoint now charges around $10/ad - which is nothing, really, if you get a buyer,

Where are Digitalpoint and Sitepoint based? Are they UK or US companies? Is that $10 USD?

I believe they are both US. I especially like the Digitalpoint forum, although it can be a bit busy some times. So many users it moves so quick!

In terms of the best advertisement service: As long as its highly targetted and the price is right you cant go far wrong with just normal text links, banners etc. But when you're talking about advertising with full marketing spiel I wouldnt really know, the content would obviously be a much bigger factor.

I think there are a lot better places to advertise.

What are you wanting to advertise? What is your company's identity and image?

Actually, my question is more general. I am not selling anything and do not have a company as well.
Considering so many advertising services exists, I just wanted to know if you have found any of them as better performing than the other.
However, you must be right. It shall depend on what one is going to advertise for finding the best place for it. Then, for example, can we make a difference between advertising the following:
* services - virtual assistants and similar
* web design and seo
* games
* meds
* property
* transportation

Well, when it comes down to it, you'd advertise those things in pretty much the same way, just at different sites. I'm a big proponent of free marketing methods like forum sigs, blog comments, article distribution, directory submission, etc. You just need to focus on niche specific sites.

mbm - you see what I mean. Each product or service has it's own identity and niche market and therefore it's own niche marketing places.

Melos - Disagree. I would advise a billboard to someone who I would never advise one. I would advise television commercials to someone who I would never advise them. And...don't let this shock you...there are businesses who wouldn't benefit from internet advertisement. Want an example? (This probably took me two seconds to think of) Senior citizen health care insurance, providers, etc. Big business. Better not waste their money on the internet.
