According to some ie. Matt Cutts, I have little to fear from supplemental results but the cynic in me isn't convinced. The rest of the internet community seems to take a differing oppinion and regard supplemental results somewhat akin to the dirt scraped off a boot.
I am aware of the basic reasons that a page might be binned to supplimental index eg. duplicate content, titles, orphaning etc. yet I have followed most of these and still find a good proportion of pages on new sites that I have created still come up in SI. Now, I'm not so worried at the moment. I have heard stories of Google taking up to 6 months to index, but I have found that most of the sites I have created usually appear within the month. However, I was wondering whether, the quick indexing in the supplementals was temporary? If not, is there anything that I can do to dig these results out of no-mans land? Obliged as always. PS. Happy new year to you all. |

There's actually a really big problem at the moment with sites appearing to go supplemental - and yes that is a problem because supplemental pages in Google will rank for very little.
At present my own recommendation is to be patient - I'm expecting to see Google address the issue over the next couple of weeks. However, if they don't - that's when I'd start to feel concerned. 2c.
