My two penn'orth : most of the MLM people I have ever encountered on the Web are, to put it bluntly, scum. I will, naturally, make an exception for present company, as we haven't been properly introduced.
MLM is principally about separating a sucker from his money. Certainly, there are honourable exceptions - namely those companies which actually have something of intrinsic value to sell - but the strength of feeling in this thread is genuine, and is motivated by a general disgust at scummy, exploitative business practices. Hope you don't think I'm biased(!) Jim |

Just had someone spam one of my other forums with a ********************.com ad.
I think when people take to forum spamming products/services in forums, reputation goes out the window.

On the plus side, google has indexed this thread and a quick search for 'pay it forward for profits' brings this up on page2

In my younger days I was involved in what I still view a good MLM business, or should I say particular branch of that business where I did meet numerous people that had 'made' it.
However, I think the whole principle is built on mind games of 'where do you see yourself in 5 years' type of thing, and along with 'if you get x amount of 'likeminded' people to do the same thing' triggers dissatisfaction and greed. Anyone who looks at a MLM plan and gets hooked is a liar if they are not thinking that if they get a few hooked as quickly as possible they can sit back and rake it in. Also, there is that slight brainwashy cloning where everyone is smiling and saying how great they are doing, scoffing at non like minded people and coming out with same one liners. I suppose i'm saying that if you join one of these schemes then to be honest you deserve what you get. It was the initial greed that got you going. You might now wonder why I refered to a 'good' MLM company? Well, the products are good, and still buy today if I can get hold of them. My benefit was the books which were motivational type books, which I still have a read of today - although one or two were a bit cringe making! :-) Just my thoughts anyway. |

Feline,
Are you being ironic? Surely you can't be putting yourself down on the basis that you're not good with MLM schemes? That's like saying "I'm a crap gangster, and I feel so ashamed. I should have tortured those people but I let them off". |

I have read this thread relating to mlm companies. I do agree with a lot of what's been said.
In my personal opinion. The problem with the mlm industry is that it is a business promoted by non business people. Sure the company has a plan they suggest that you should follow ie Make a list of 100 friends and family, attend meetings, wear silly badges etc. The thing is a lot of people will then run off and try and do thier own thing. Now since the majority of these people have little or no business experience and the chances are that their immediate upline will be in the same boat, failure is sure thing. The fact is over 95% of people in network marketing make no money. However, the other 5% do. Some make very, very good money!! My tip is join a strong team in a well established mlm company. I don't suggest you join a startup mlm. Most are scams and fold within a few years. Then, adopt a system like Pay It Forward 4 Profits. Magnetic Sponsoring and Renegade Marketing are others to name but a few. Then just TAKE ACTION. |
