Default Investment forums

A couple of resources for anyone looking for investment forums:

Motley Fool:
http://boards.fool.com/Index.aspx?source=LN

Silicon investor:
http://www.siliconinvestor.com/

Finance Markets:
http://www.financemarkets.co.uk/

Market forum:
http://www.marketforum.com/

The trouble with investment forums, though, is that a lot of public discussion groups simply fill up with spam.

I’d definitely recommend the Motley Fool. Used to frequent it a few years ago when I fancied being the next Warren Buffett. Sadly it’s not as easy as it looks so I still work for a living.

Can’t say I noticed much spam on the site although it’s got a lot more commercial since I used to visit it. The users are more interested in sharing market news than trying to sell services.

Regards

Joy

I was trying to list those sites with little spam - I visited Google Groups and it's all just spam emails.

Do you have any small investments at present, or did you simply dabble for a bit?

I'm looking to dabble myself, but need to look out for a good basic demo account to work with until I have a better idea of the lingo.

Another site you might look at is The Kirk Report at

http://www.thekirkreport.com/

It's not a forum, but a blog;however, Charles Kirk answers many questions by email about stock trading. He himself is a day-trader with a very successful track record.

Check out this blog. It’s got some interesting strategies and thoughts about investing. I came across it a couple weeks ago.

"Hilary" - you may or may not have a great blog, but spamming forums with it is NOT the way to get exposure... Sure you can drop a link here and there if it is relevent and you might get away with it.

I have just spent the last 10 minutes cleaning up your post's from another forum, but Brian has had the sense to blacklist your blog hosting service from IB so the link doesn't work.

Please give ADVICE and not blog links - if you are really dedicated to helping others and gaining help for yourself then you should be willing to answer questions and not linkdrop.

She/he has been extensively spamming forums with the same message. Looks like it could even be a bot. Suitably banned.
