Default URL spacing?

Hi

when naming urls and wanting to create a sapce for example:

www.whatever/web development

would it be more SE freindly to put it as:

www.whatever/web_development

or

www.whatever/web-development.

I'm never really sure on this and get conflicting advice each time.

Thanks

I would recommend you change it to a hyphen.

Also, don't forget, you don't even need to consider using spaces. You could actually use keyworded folders instead:

www.whatever/web/development

That also gives you more scope on your structuring and internal link architecture, yet retain good keyword URLs, should you wish to create a cluster of similar themed content pages.
