I like the new design. Nothing more disconcerting than a bunch of 'nice' people grinning at you all the time. also, I like the fixed width and the clarity of the content.

Also worth pointing out that its good to put the 'directory' in a prominent position, its the first thing I always look for. I love directories!!! I love putting my clients in them, its my hobby.

Thanks for the feedback - and to be honest, it was something of a loss to remove Brian's babes from the original Platinax design.

Still, I think Mark's icons do a much better job...

Much more professional and unique Brian, how about getting the icons to link to the relevant sections, or is that in hand already.

Cheers

Brian,

On your blogs page the bullet points need fixing so they are within the box when browsing in FireFox, I think its the same problem I highlighted with your homepage. Screenshot attached:

Of course, it's moments like this I remember how much I *hate* webdesign - it's so damn time-consuming!!

Still got amendments to make to the site - footer links, remove old content, and also going to make a couple more changes to the forums just to represent them more in line with the main site - nothing major, but enough.

Next I have to set up the blogs in the new format...

Damn, better catch up with the news as well...

EDIT: Special thanks go to Mark at Eagle Imagery for doing the Platinax icons, and bumfluff at Seed Design for setting up the new design template in a CSS-only format.
You know, I'm getting itchy feet about the Platinax design again.

The newer version is sleeker, but now I much prefer the original concept behind the older design - especially as now I think I know how to make the information presentation much sleeker and easier.
