Default Google's new mantra?

First it was "Don't do evil"

Then it was "We want to organise the world's information".

Somehow the sum of those has resulted in the practical mantra:

"We want to put ads onto everything"

Somehow it seems like a sad movement away from being a technology company - especially when it means they are trying to take other people's information without permission (Google Library, various Privacy concerns, etc) to set up the advertising with.

It has been quite a shift in direction really from google.

They first appeared almost as an "ethical" company but I guess as generally always happens they have abandoned some of their principles due to the lure of the green stuff.

They seem to be more about money now rather than getting people the best search results. It was cool how they stood up to the government when it wanted them to give them the search results.
