I guess I would be . . .
It's hard to classify. It's a type of hybrid between underground hardcore, underground punk with a slight twist of thrash to it, plsu the ranging scremo style lyrics.
Some people can't get past the scremo style lyrics (the new record is about 50/50 balnced between distiotion style yelling giving it the adreline boost, and a melodic counter to even the music out) and just give up on the band. For some reason, I really like the incoherent lyrcis from their first record. The garage style recordings and yelling gave it a huge adrenaline boost, which is what I like to get out fo music.
Their second record (recently relased) was done much smoother. The incpororated a nice balence between the main singer (scremo) and the backup singers (1 main back up [50/50 lyrics] and the 2 backup backups).
But when you look beyond the "why is he yelling like that?"mentality, and really listen ot the music, in terms of complexity, innovation and just pure sound, it blows a lot of comparible bands out of the water, and I personally think they're very underappreciated. I have a video from 2003, and they're playing in tiny local style venues, where my band who only had 2 permanenmt members were playing.
3 chord pop punk emo kids have met their match.
From the first record, I reccommend checking out "adellade" or "pulmonary archery" and from the second, I'd reccoment "Accidents" or "It was fear of myself that made me crazy".
