The directory still has free and paid options - paid submissions usually only wait a couple of hours tops before they are included, but the free submissions are developing a small backlogue at present.
The original plan was for Platinax to be a paid-only directory, with maybe a few free submission promotions, but nowadays I want to keep offering free submissions - not least because I want to be seen to be offering a useful resource, than selling PR. Hope that helps.

Free submission was removed a couple of months ago, as the directory was simply being bombarded with spam.
Still, I think £9.95 for a listing is still a great bargain - not least because the listing would appaer under International, National and Local categories, and also because Platinax is increasingly being regarded as an "authority" site.
