Default Shopping

So today I went out.

I need to wash the old car, as it goes for sale next week, and will pay for my WorldPay merchant account. So I left with the intention of buying car wash and wax.

I ended up in B&Q, bought a lawnmower, and mowed the lawn instead.

How do these insiduous marketing people take such noble and original intentions, and twist them so successfully into something so completely different? I only wanted car wax - yet I bought a Flymo!

Answers on a postcard, please.

(OH, and if you're interested - I have still to wash the car. )

Just don't go out to buy a sponger and a bucket... you'll probably come back with a new Merc!

Heh, actually, I think it's intuition - Saturday was the last dry day before this post, so it was a good time to do it.

Got the wax and wash and gave both the old and new cars the most tremendous clean they have ever have (and ever will have! ).

I guess the bottom line is that B&Q reminded myself that they had a supply of something I remembered I had a demand for. Darn it - who can beat that in marketing?

Home Depot will some time run ads for things for less money then the product cost them. Meaning they will loose money on one product because they know once your in the store you will buy something else.
