I can sort of see the liberating attraction of nudism in terms of breaking social conventions - but somehow doing so in cold morning temperatures doesn't appeal so.

I take it that you don't approve of people walking in the nude? Don't you have Cypriots naturally sunbathing naked on Cyprus??

Actually.. talking out of all honesty not at all and to be honest when they did this in Barcelona I don't think many "locals" took part what you have is, the nudist camps and societies all over the world hear about these events and travel to take part, the Spanish (Catalonians) were probably sickened. I'm sure many locals in Newcastle were probably sickened too and some that were brain washed into thinking it was ok, liberating and normal. We have humans walking the earth 35'000 years ago that decided they were not the same as other animals and started wearing jewellery and clothing and here we are walking pointlessly in the name of art. The person that processes thought to take part in public nudity also produces other thought processes which are dark and self beneficial and destructive.
There are no recognised nudist camps or societies in Cyprus and nudity is illegal. If you want to be liberated you can cross over to Northern Cyprus where they do have recognised nudist societies and not forgetting Istanbul which is also one of the Gay capitals in the world. I don't think the Greeks will be wanting it back too soon ![]() |

See what happens when you follow others, doesn't necessary mean it's right, regardless who and how many are doing it. Last edited by Postmaster; 19-07-2005 at 12:24 AM. |

Why is it illegal? and if you feel so strongly as to why it's not so bad, didn't you feel like walking round naked these past hot days? As for going to hell, I'm not saying you would the truth is I don't know about that at all.
At the end of the day why is anything bad? We all have bounderies right? Last edited by Postmaster; 19-07-2005 at 12:39 AM. |

I don't "feel so strongly" about it. I just fail to see the harm in it. Yes, I feel more comfortable in public wearing clothes, but thats more to do with being brought up with the idea that you wear clothes in public, not because I believe theres anything inherently wrong with public nudity.

But what can it prove walking round naked? That we have nothing to be a shamed? Of course not.. Also does it hurt anyone? Maybe so? Because who are we to judge who and who is not hurt. Liberal about walking naked leads and connected to sexual liberation? Sexual liberation leads and connected to higher sexually transmitted disease, some of which are terrible, slow and painful deaths and emotional to families, relatives and friends. Whereas one partner for life and conservative values equals an honourable and full life. Live by the sword die by the sword right?

How come we shouldn't judge if people get hurt or not, but its ok to judge people's promiscuity based on the fact that they walk around starkers? Just cos you're nekkid doesn't mean you'll shag anything that moves, right?
Also, if you're arguing that people feel more free to indulge their sexuality when nudity is publicly accepted, aren't you saying by default that people who wear clothes are holding back their sexual feelings? And isn't it true that an individual's repressed sexuality can also lead to harmful consequences for others? |
