Platinax is now in the process of being relisted by Yahoo!
![]() I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't simply ban the site after a few days, either for my complaining about the original delisting, malicious third-party reports, or general whimsy. Anyway, sending a DMCA counter notice did the trick, but it's simply a genuine shame that over the past 8 months this site has had absolutely no presence in Yahoo! and with no clear understanding of why. Hopefully this will now change - Platinax was created to be a long-term exercise in branding - so I'm crossing my fingers that things can now move forward more constructively.

Something happened last November that caused Yahoo! to completely delist the entire domain.
I covered it in more detail here: http://www.platinax.co.uk/blogs/bria...he_new_bl.html Yahoo! search eventually said a claim of copyright infringement had been filed via DMCA complaint - but on Friday the Yahoo! legal dept said nothing of the sort had actually happened. Either way, hopefully resolved. Still, didn't stop Google sending over 100,000 unique visitors here last month.

No, mostly to the news section - but it's not traffic that I consider particularly high value. It's general traffic, rather than people specifically looking for business information, unfortunately.
It probably has some branding value, but if I were selling any specific products or services, I would have to ensure that the traffic were much better focussed on specific sales keywords.

that's unfortunate in a way
maybe you should promote a newsletter of somekind to get them coming back? Suppose there's some adsense in there somewhere to compensate ?

I have a few plans for this site - Platinax has always felt in beta mode so far, but I have real plans for developing the site.
The first big task, though, is to get it all converted to table-less CSS. I have the code - but it I find myself having to make massive code changes, and have to edit every static file and template file on the site, which is surprisingly large. After then - we get real serious. ![]() EDIT: Just noticed 486 users as showing here on Friday - I wonder if that's from the Yahoo! spidering by any chance..

Brian:
Any idea how many people are hitting my blog page? And would you know the keywords they are using? Thanks, Roy http://www.platinax.co.uk/blogs/roytroxel/ |

Actually, I only just found out about it - just after posting an update that showed we were relisted:
http://www.platinax.co.uk/blogs/bria...ax_relist.html It's also a little embarrassing that the story has been picked up at this late stage when it's already moved forwards - I was simply hesitant in posting an update immediately that I had the news of relisting, until I was sure that Yahoo! were actually going to continue indexing the site, rather than list, but de-index.
