Default I need Help!!!!!

What shall I do! Please someone give me advice!

Quote:
Your site seekagreek.com has been determined to be causing high loads on the
server and the cause of recent downtime. It is not suitable for a shared hosting
environment and will need a dedicated or semi dedicated hosting solution. We
sell semi dedicated servers for $75 a month which come with 200 gigs bandwidth
and 20 gigs disk space. You can only host one site off the semi dedicated
because you are splitting it with another large site. Our dedicated servers are
completely managed and allow for you to host unlimited sites. You can check out
the plans for them at http://www.hostgator.com/dedicated.shtml

Instead of just suspending your site we have moved it to a dedicated server
giving you one week to decide what you want to do. You can move it to a new host
or put it on a semi dedicated / dedicated server with us. It is your decision
to make but we will not be able to host it in a shared environment any longer
and at the end of the one-week it will be terminated off the dedicated server.

We are extremely sorry for the bad news but have no choice due to the amount of
cpu and ram your site is using and the amount of problems it is causing. If you
have any questions please let us know.

Sincerely,
My site doesn't earn enough to host it on a dedicated server!!! Shall I purchase semi? Or move host? I thought hostgator was the best! How do I move the site without any hassle?!!!! Brian do you have any advice for me? Thinking of buying semi dedicated...?

I'd ask them for details as to how much bandwidth etc your site is using and then look at the small print of your agreement.

Which hosting company is it?

The only scripts I'm running on it is a dating one www.aewebworks.com with a chat and forum (VB) and that's it!.. My traffic is 2500 to 3000 uniques a month.. Hostgator are suppose to be one of the best, considering I'm on the baby package, then didn't even offer a one of the 2 higher packages but straight to

Thats harsh! Stupid arse holes, I'm moving it to a semi-dedicated with them untill I shop around and find a secure and BETTER VALUE for money host. Maybe they should try not stuffing too many costumers unto one server! I spent months looking round reading forum posts before going with hostgator.com, I read nothing negative about them.

I was gone sorting out Nameserver information and semi dedicated hosting.. Now my site will be down untill it's config. I wont pay $75 a month for something I will be using 1% of. Was my site really that bad? I sent an email to lunarpages, and explained to them what my site is all about and what HG did, if they are ok with it, I will be moving to them and into a much chepaer hostage package and when that happens thingy can be expecting some negative publicity over at webhostingtalk.

LunaPages won't let you run vBulletin - they claim they use too many resources. Which is hard to interpret as anything other than Lunarpages are stacking up sites as tightly as possible. So you're asking the wrong company.

I'd offer to host you, Postmaster, but after trying to install the aedirectory once, I'm not convinced I'd be able to successfully set up their dating software for you - the directory was a real pain, support was poor, and I had to abandon that project.

You may want to try somewhere like www.akashik.net - the guy there used to be very hands on with clients, and helped me lots with software issues after a major server crash a couple of years ago. He's more likely to be able to figure out how to work the ae software than myself.

Hope that helps.

Yesturday was the grand opening of my VB software and I think thats what might have caused it! I lost about 20 posts Now they can't be bothered to post again..

Really pissed off! I think I might just stick to where I am for the time being... I found a host called hostzoom.com thats offering semi dedicated for $65 a month which is $10 cheaper then what I'm currently paying.. I just need a way of putting down the costs. I think I might well need to stick to semi dedicated unfortunantly since the dating script and VB are eating up server resoruces.

I just moved my domain over to godaddy.com for a 10 YEAR registration period! I did this for a few reasons. A) The Google patent B) I saved about £200 C) my ex registrar doesn't go up to 10 years..

Godaddy.com $73 for 10 years
123reg.co.uk is $40 a year and only up to 5 years.

Makes sense right?

Now this means I don’t have to worry about my domain for 10 years and can concentrate on my web hosting now that I have acquired a new problem.. My aim now is on increasing the traffic to my site so that my revenue can increase to cover the higher costs of my hostage..
