Disable signatures in vBulletin

To make signatures display only for members:


In the postbit or postbit_legacy template find

<if condition="$post['signature']">

change it to:

<if condition="$post['signature'] AND $bbuserinfo[userid] != 0">

Thats all there is to it.

I believe Invision Power Boards can do that from the control panel - this is an interesting way to keep the forums clean for guests, and make the member experience a little richer.

also covers the links from spiders..... however signature links are not what they used to be, even yahoo has given low if any weight to them now.

I tried that vb code and it did not disable signatures for guests. Im using the latest version.

Now that's interesting - you've tried using a logged out browser on the site, and you still see the links?

Sorry your right. It does work! I double just checked the code and I noticed that put it in wrong. I looked everywhere for this modification. This forum seems like a great place. Thanks!
