Does anyone here use paypal for selling just a unique item? The problem is that paypal have no solution for a unique item ie like art so if someone clicks on my buy now button another person can also in theory buy.
How did you solve this problem? I have searched their developers site and forum but to no avail. Paypal say they have no solution and to go to ebay or make a backend script? |

Think the only thing you can do thre is keep an eye on sales and if something has been bought take it off your iste
you could put a clause on your site that you only have on unique item have you looked at the other online payment schemes paypal is one of the most expensive one have a look at fastpay which is run by natwest, also nochex and pppay they might have some solution hope this helps Shell x |

If you're working with unique items, then something you may like to try instead is to simply invite e-mail as proof of interest, and then offer a page with the Paypal link once the customer has e-mailed yourself to state their interest and ask to make payment.
The downside is that it means the consumer has to make an extra step in making a purchase - but in a retail environment, that may possibly be to your advantage if it makes sure the purchase is definitely wanted. It also means you can work with Paypal as a processor. Just 2c.
