Looks like Platinax may be finally coming out of the sandbox - I've just been checking a few search terms and we are finally developing a proper presence on Google.
![]() There are a number of links pointing to this site, based on the keywords "business", "internet", and "marketing". The aim is not to try and rank for these keywords, but simply to associate the site with them. It finally looks like this is happening - there are some longer keyword strings (ie, 3+ words) where Platinax shows on Google.com (eg, "internet marketing resources" - rank: 11th), and there are some significant 2-keyword strings showing on Google.co.uk UK results (eg, "SEO articles" - rank: 2nd). Site page titles are also finally ranking on Google.com (ie, "Rise of the Directory"), and individual articles are now beginning to rank for the keywords they cover (ie, "Google Sandbox"). While these results are not overwhelmingly strong, it comes after a period of almost no presence for the designated keywords and even page titles, so it is definitely a sign that finally this site is developing its own momentum. I like to think of starting this site as like starting one of those huge American locomotives - it takes a lot of energy to get one going, but once it starts moving, it takes a lot of energy to stop it. Ladies and gentlemen, Platinax is moving.

Sounds like it could be the datacenter IPs migrating - Postmater encountered that earlier.
You did specify UK searches?? We're only about 27th on the international search - so far. Early days yet.

Google are still switching between nice index and screwy index - if they can settle on the nice index, that would be great. The screwy index still misses a few companies, but nice index offers lots of ranking opportunities - there's already been a small surge in traffic (big in percentile terms).
Overall, looks good getting better.

Well, we're finally getting a lot more traffic in. In could be higher, but I'm already in the process of adding a lot more content over the next week or so.
However, it seems were finally out of a low point in February, and that the site is firmly moving on up.

Back to no.1 and 2 here.
![]() Still, at least when the results migrate, they are not entirely keeping us out anymore - traffic is definitely improving, although the search results continue to be unstable.
