As a discussion point, how do you see the internet?
I personally see it as just a metaphor for the hundreds of millions of people using it - it is a virtual community, but it's important to remember that the community is built on people. But that's simply my own take on it.

. For business purposes, if you view the Internet as a community, you are taking a step in the right direction. On the other hand, the Internet is used for other purposes as well. It began in 1969 as a U.S. Department of Defense project. The idea was to develop a system of interrelated government networks, to duplicate and preserve data in case the Soviets dropped the big one. After 1990, however, the Internet became public domain, partly because of a law signed by then-Senator Al Gore. Today, many governments use the Internet for much different purposes than conducting business. Last edited by rtroxel; 22-02-2005 at 04:10 PM. |

For me i-net is almost my second world- a virtual one. HAving developed so quickly, it provides you with everything you need ( info, money, entertainment). What is more it's possible to get married via i-net:-) But it's still impossible to make children:-)

For me internet is like fourth dimension (or fifth if we take account of time). More liberty and subsidiary possibilities! Koko was right - only children could not be made via internet (only virtual...)!
