Hi guys.
I'm at the stage of having a website developed of a new and fairly original mashup website that has huge viral potential and a clear cut revenue stream ( your reaction is or heard that before )I'm looking to go live in September and although the site is not ready, I'm thinking well in advance of the marketing aspect as we all know these ideas live and die by the marketing that supports them. I don't have a large marketing budget right now and sure when the site starts working I'll have some revenue to upweight my marketing but for now I was wondering if anyone had some tips about gaining PR? I want to focus heavily on PR and editorial but am not too sure how to go about it. Do you approach journalists, use prweb, contact newspapers directly? Do you pay for this? are there any caveats to be aware of? Any help would be great. There is a great angle to use to promote the site so yes I have thought of WHY the ssite is worth a story in someones newspaper real estate (I know that's key too.) Cheers in advance .jonnyd8 |

![]() Use press release channels as well, just to maximise exposure and get a few links in. You might even want to do a pre-release announcement of continuing development just to test these channels, get the site warmed up in Google, and gain some experience as to which you prefer to use.
