Default Building Longtail traffic

Long tail traffic is the bread and butter of any site, this means search's that are either very product based or searches with three or more words in the phrase; these are the main source of traffic for any successful site. We start by analysing the current search market for your industry, You might like to try this buy using the Google keyword tool, this will show you how to find all the search phrase's related to your market, this is the most important step as your campaign will be targeted from the beginning.

Once you have found the main key search phrase's you should click the add button to place them in the selected keyword box (this will appear on the right), Then click "Related keywords" this will then re-run the tool and show you the entire long tail search's in that industry.

Most long tail phrase's will be easier to rank for in the search engine's rather than trying to take a share out of the vanity phrase, using this technique will ensure your site can produce targeted traffic for your site and you will start to see an increased internet presence and in turn an increase of revenue.

Hope this helps people grow their sites with realistic measurable results.

Good luck

Absolutely, I was just looking at my Google Analytics, and it you take our visits from searches for my top 10 phrases, that is only 20% of my search engine traffic. The other 80% comes from long tail searches.

And these convert better too, because the searcher has a good idea what they want i.e. instead of 'tennis shoes' they're looking for 'white tennis shoes with blue stripe'. If you are selling exactly what they want you're more likely to get their custom.

I do agree but Just one note on this.

So many people are now looking at long tail niches that people are ignoring some of the more direct ones that do still exist.

Do a lot of research, almost research s long as you expect to spend on building the site as ultimately the keyword will the success or failure of the site / business
