I was thinking about this myself and got into a bit of a debate with some friends - the perfect recession proof product would be exercise equipment as people cut down on going to the gym or getting involved in other sporting activities that cost money they may just opt for buying items that allow them to exercise at home to reduce their monthly out goings.

I think it's not a case of their being individual products, as much as business models. I'd happily move into selling consumer electronics, even if demand was falling, on the grounds that I were investing in a company for the long-term and for when moved out of recession, and treat recession as an excellent downward pressure on costs.
![]() Everything is still available to sell - just under tighter conditions IMO.
