Hi all.
I have a fulltime job but also run a part time business (internet stuff) Can you mark the vote with your position.. I'd love to go full time with my part time job, but job security is important for me and my wife, since she lost her job 6 weeks ago (made reduntant )Cheers Mally |

Pretty much part-time here. I also work in a youth centre. I prefer it this way.. means my mind isn't always on graphic and web stuff, I get to speak to real people and I'm not always staring at a screen

My business is full time web development but I also supplement it with affiliate/adsense earnings. I say supplement... it's only pocket money but can't complain!

Business is full time.
To be honest, I think you can only really make a business successful as a business when you make it full time. Otherwise it's in danger of being a hobby more than anything, and just doesn't get the push and dedication it may need. If security is most important to you, stay employed and just develop your internet businesses part-time until such point as opportunity suggests you can expand them otherwise. 2c.

I have several part-time businesses.... I'd burn out if I have to work full-time too, but that's because I spend quite a bit of time doing research for work..... and also, I admit - I'm very efficient, good and work very hard at what I do......

I work all day monday to friday on my business, but still work on weekend at a supermarket, means I can keep all money in business to keep reinvesting at the moment.

I'm running my company whilst working at Next, I'm looking for full time work at a design studio, and I've spoken to the current one and they'll allow me to carry on with freelance work.

No reason why you can't go for it if your part-time work is scalable into full-time. What would you do with those extra hours you'd have on your hands? James. |
