i'm a soletrader just starting off my website which i'm selling off - through world pay and need to find out what information i have to include. eg do i have to give my address on the website (i have no offices - i work from home do i have to give that?) and do i have to give a phone number etc??

And indeed, you should really include full contact details - many people work from home, but that doesn't mean to say you should hide the fact.

There aren't any legal obligations for sole traders, but I know if I go to a site - I like to see proper contact details or I don't bother stay and certainly will not order or make contact.

If you aren't prepared to put your contact phone number (Not mobile - what does it cost now to get a second number for business on VOIP - very little!) or contact address, name helps too. I like to deal with business run by people who aren't scared to let me know who they are.

With the distance selling act I think you have to provide contact details on your website, but I think email will suffice

I did a bit of homework - and this is correct "sufficient detail for the consumer to be able to identify the business they are dealing with".

But odd enough this only applies to businesses that deal with the general public, and not "Business to business"!
