Hi there, I am after ideas for what images or icons I could use which relate to the following 4 aspects of my site (i am in the property buying industry)
Trying to steer clear of the naff pictures of "happy couples and families" that most companies in my industries use. I'd prefer some sort of graphic/icons instead. I've been looking through istockphotos but am running short of inspiration... 1. Guaranteed Cash Offer If you need a quick house sale, or would like to sell and rent back your home, contact Quick Sale Houses TODAY by completing the FREE online enquiry form and we will make you a guaranteed cash offer for your property 2. Sell Property Quickly Suffering on the slow housing market? Or do you need to raise some extra money? Quick Sale Houses will buy your house for CASH in a matter of weeks, or even days. 3. Sell and Rent Back If you are in financial difficulty, you can sell your home for CASH and then rent your property back. Rental prices are all agreed in advance and are guaranteed under a long term tenancy agreement. 4. Avoid Repossession We can halt repossession proceedings immediately with a cash property sale. You can also sell and rent back your property if you would like to remain living in your home. Any ideas gratefully received!! Thanks Matt |

I really don't see how you could use an icon to communicate a repossession image - I really can't.
The reason stock photos are used is usually to try and make a basic visual relationship between the site and the users, either as their situation or their aspirations. I can certainly see why you should want to look at a different approach, though - I've seen massive entry volume and competition in the SARB (Sell And Rent Back) market over the past year or so, and I've certainly had a few of my forums spammed by SARB lead generation sites.

Just from what you're saying, and presenting yourself in a different way - visually... the first thing I can think of is by using illustrations.
There may be stock illustrations available out there that would be suitable, maybe slight modifications to your specific needs. Is that the sort of thing you might be getting at? Just to stay clear of photos? |

Is this to go on an existing design or for a new one?
I'd be careful about going with something just to be different from competitors.. it also needs to tie in with the rest of the design. If this is for an existing site, I'd wonder how your new graphics would fit. For a new layout, I wouldn't use an image style as a basis to build a new design. |

I don't know if this is just an american association or not, but one thing that comes to my mind for repossession is the classic melodrama "Snidely Whiplash" villain with twirling mustaches and black cloak grabbing the deed to the farm.
